Ion hole equilibrium and dynamics in one dimension

چکیده

Electrostatic solitary waves with negative potential (ion holes) are analyzed theoretically using a generalization of the treatment recently developed for slow electron holes. It is shown that an often-cited criterion their existence mistaken and they can in fact exist wide range ion to temperature ratios. Shifts hole velocity $v_h$ relative distributions systematically decrease permitted depths, which become extremely small by $v_h/v_{ti}\sim 2$. Ion holes usually unstably accelerated reflection forces calculated numerically analytically resulting asymmetric structure. The timescale this acceleration proportional plasma period, generally longer than bounce time well. Thus, behave like approximately rigid entities even when unstable survive much typical transit satellite, so as be observable.

Localized patterns and hole solutions in one-dimension extended sytem

The existence, stability properties, and bifurcation diagrams of localized patterns and hole solutions in one-dimensional extended systems is studied from the point of view of front interactions. An adequate envelope equation is derived from a prototype model that exhibits these particle-type solutions. This equation allow us to obtain an analytical expression for the front interaction, which i...

Pre-equilibrium dynamics and heavy-ion observables

To bracket the importance of the pre-equilibrium stage on relativistic heavy-ion collision observables, we compare simulations where it is modeled by either free-streaming partons or fluid dynamics. These cases implement the assumptions of extremely weak vs. extremely strong coupling in the initial collision stage. Accounting for flow generated in the pre-equilibrium stage, we study the sensiti...

Three-Body Dynamics in One Dimension

We discuss the general three-particle quantum scattering problem, for motion restricted to the full line. Specifically, we formulate the three-body problem in one dimension in terms of the (Faddeev-type) integral equation approach. As a first application, we develop a spinless, one-dimensional (1-D) model that mimics three-nucleon dynamics in one dimension. In addition, we investigate the effec...

Diffusion-annihilation dynamics in one spatial dimension

We discuss a reaction-diffusion model in one dimension subjected to an external driving force. Each lattice site may be occupied by at most one particle. The particles hop with rates (1± η)/2 to the right or left nearest neighbour site if it is vacant, and annihilate with rate one if it is occupied. We compute the long time behaviour of the space dependent average density in states where the in...

Revisiting Kawasaki dynamics in one dimension.

Critical exponents of the Kawasaki dynamics in the Ising chain are re-examined numerically through the spectrum gap of evolution operators constructed both in spin and domain-wall representations. At low-temperature regimes the latter provides a rapid finite-size convergence to these exponents, which tend to z ≃ 3.11 for instant quenches under ferromagnetic couplings, while approaching to z ≃ 2...
